Jeffrey Chen has significant merger and acquisition experience across a wide variety of industries, including chemicals, industrial products and services, technology, energy, environmental, building products, and consumer products.

Prior to joining Lazard Middle Market, Mr. Chen was a business development manager at 3M Company, where he was responsible for identifying and executing M&A opportunities and developing new growth strategies. Prior to 3M, Mr. Chen worked in the energy and power investment banking group at Merrill Lynch. Earlier in his career, Mr. Chen served in entrepreneurial and operational roles. Mr. Chen was a technical director at Plug Power Inc., where he led the integration of acquired technologies and businesses and assisted in the company’s initial public offering. Also, Mr. Chen worked as a project manager at Thermo Electron Corp. (now Thermo Fisher Scientific), where he helped spin out a new company.

Mr. Chen received a Master of Business Administration degree from MIT Sloan, a master of science degree from Princeton University, and bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
