Jason Cohen is a director in the restructuring group at Lazard Middle Market. Mr. Cohen has over 12 years of experience in corporate finance and restructuring. He has represented numerous entities in restructurings both in-court and out-of-court, including recent representations of American Safety Razor, Hayes-Lemmerz, True Temper Sports, InPhonic, Heartland Automotive and Waterford Wedgewood as well as the secured lenders in Eddie Bauer and unsecured lenders in Trident Resources.

Prior to joining Lazard Middle Market, Mr. Cohen was special counsel in the financial restructuring department of the law firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. While at Cadwalader, Mr. Cohen represented debtors, individual creditors, official creditors’ committees, unofficial bondholder committees and other parties in interest in numerous restructurings involving companies in multiple industries, including, the chapter 11 cases of Solutia, Quigley Company, AmeriKing, Winstar Communications, Pathmark Stores, RSL Communications, Arch Wireless Communications and Geneva Steel Company.

Mr. Cohen received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Connecticut and juris doctor from Brooklyn Law School. Mr. Cohen is a member of the New York state bar.
