Robin Engelson leads the firm’s U.S. middle market private placement practice, raising debt and non-control equity, and arranging acquisition financing for sell-side M&A transactions. She has over 25 years of middle market financing and capital raising experience and has financed or advised on more than $6 billion in transactions across various industries.
Prior to joining Lazard Middle Market, Mr. Engelson founded and was president and CEO of Sapphire Financial Group, a financial advisory consulting firm. Prior to that, she was a senior vice president at GE Capital, a vice president and group head at The Bank of New York, and held lending positions at Wells Fargo and U.S. Bank. Ms. Engelson serves on the board of directors for Ameriprise Bank, FSB, a subsidiary of Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (NYSE:AMP). She previously served on the board of Medica Health Plans, a $2 billion revenue insurance company. She serves on several other professional and non-profit boards, including the Minnesota State Board of Accountancy.
Ms. Engelson received a Master of Business Administration degree from The Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the Honors College at the University of Michigan.
